No kill on sight
Player killing is off across the map. You can travel, loot and build without a sniper ending three hours of progress.
The server
Survive the wasteland. Together.
DayZ without getting shot on sight at every corner. The danger comes from the world: the infected, the weather, hunger and broken-down cars far from home. Other players are the people who might tow you back.
GasTown
The one town on the map. Trade at the main trader, pick up supplies from the vending machines and meet other survivors.
Fuel is precious
Free fuel at the stations is switched off. Every litre has to be pumped, refined and hauled, so a full tank means freedom.
Grounded, no sci-fi
Rust, dust and real-world gear. Custom items and vehicles are built to fit the Badlands look and feel.
Build and keep it
Raise a base out in the wasteland without waking up to it raided. Just keep clear of GasTown, roads and other players' plots.
Admins who show up
An active admin team with proper tools. Lost your car to a bug or stuck in a rock? Open a ticket and someone will help.

Why fuel matters
Keep your wheels turning
Badlands is big, and walking it is slow and dangerous. Vehicles get you to loot, to your base and home again, but only if there's fuel in the tank.
The pumps in GasTown only sell what players have delivered. If you want a steady job, take up oil: it's hard work, but everyone needs what you produce.

Find a field
Buy an Oil Survey Map from the trader and prospect the area it points to.

Drill and pump
Drill the hole, set up a pumpjack and fill barrels with crude.

Refine
Haul the crude to the refinery in GasTown and turn it into petrol.

Fill up
Stock the fuel stations, fill your canisters and get back on the road.

House rules
Keep it PvE
01No killing or robbing players
Outside the marked PvP zone, you don't kill, rob, handcuff or hold up other players. Zombies and animals are fair game.
02No raiding or griefing
Don't raid bases, block roads, trap spawns, wreck other people's vehicles or sabotage pumpjacks and fuel stations.
03No cheating or exploits
Cheats, macros, duping and glitching through walls mean a permanent ban. Found a bug? Report it on Discord and you'll be thanked for it.
04Building
Don't build in or right next to GasTown, on roads, at military sites or around oil fields. Keep a fair distance from other players' bases.
05Respect each other
No racism, harassment or hate speech in voice, text chat or on Discord.
06Admins have the final word
If something isn't covered here, staff decide. Disagree? Open a ticket on Discord rather than arguing in game.

How to join
- Own DayZ on SteamGasTown runs on the Badlands map, so you'll need it once it's released.
- Open the DayZ LauncherOr use the in-game server browser.
- Find GasTownSearch for "GasTown" or add the server by IP once it's live.
- Let the mods downloadThe launcher fetches the required mods automatically when you join.
